I have been blessed over and over. Asian Access brings wonderful things to my mind and I am always looking for people who would serve well in Japan. The ministry that Asian Access has in Japan is so important and I believe in it.

Here are some quotes from Summer Teams 2003:

If you are willing to make yourself available to be used by God to show love and reach the Japanese people, He will use you, in ways you could not imagine. You think you will be a blessing, and you will - but even more so - God will bless you for obeying His call to go! Carah B., TX 2002&2003

The Asian Access summer teams experience is amazing. This summer God used our team through its giftedness and weakness to glorify Himself. God has used the last three summers to change the man that I am and rewrite my plans for the future. Robert A., TX, 2001, 2002, 2003

If you want to have a truly compelling and life-changing experience with God, I would highly recommend considering a trip with this organization. My life and understanding God's ministry worldwide have taken on an entirely new light. Michael S., TX

The summer program Asian Access offers is a wonderful way to see God's work in Asian countries, build relationships with a Japanese church, and simply serve God by reaching out to those in need of His salvation. William S., CA

I came to Japan wanting to change their lives with the gospel. And while we did much to spread that truth, God used the Japanese to change my life. He brought me closer to His heart for the world and a joy that is beyond all understanding. The Japanese people need hope and God is allowing us to be part of His hope and glory. Brandon C., CA

Come to Japan and serve God and the Japanese church. God will use you to spread his gospel to the nation of Japan, which is covered by false religions and a loss of hope. God wants to use you to pour His light over His beloved creation in Japan. Stephanie H., TX

People in Japan just need an opportunity to hear the gospel. You will fall in love with the Japanese and their hospitality in everything they do. As you serve the church and help to encourage and support them, God will continue to mold and shape your heart drastically. You'll come back changed forever. Marc B., TX

Quotes related to Asian Access' Summer Team Pre-field Training

The studying of my gifts was the most helpful section to me. And Asian Access does a good job of stressing God over everything else, which is important.

Scott McMillan, First Presbyterian church of Reading

Quotes related to Asian Access' Summer Teams Devotional

I have realized through my devotions some of the aspects of a good spiritual leader. Through this I have been working to strengthen my personal relationship with Christ.

Laura Langiotti, First Presbyterian Church of Reading, PA

He has taught me that reading the Bible for myself is truly one of the best ways to learn about God.

Jilleen Seiden, Glendale Presbyterian Church, Glendale, CA

God blessed me and encourage me to seek Him first; to let Him truly be "my all in all," and He will do great things through me and in me for His glory and His kingdom.

Clark McHenry, First Presbyterian Church of Reading, PA

Quotes relating to Japanese people

I have seen God working in marvelous ways. It was very exciting to see Japanese Christians at work -- the culture is against them but they keep working.

The thing I like most about Japan is the hospitality and generosity of the Japanese Christians. They were the most faithful people I have ever met, sharing the gospel with others in a culture that is not conducive to Christianity.

Margo Dolas, Perimeter Church, Atlanta

We stayed with an amazing family who will forever be an example of Christ's love for me to model. It was amazing to see how much they have sacrificed.

Katie Roland, First Presbyterian Church of Reading, PA

The church we visited glowed with joyousness every day, every hour. It was such a joy to be in the company of folks who were living "in the way." Our visit brought them encouragement that was clearly not just from our worldly selves.

Eleanor Hay, First Presbyterian Church of Reading, PA

I like to do things my way. The lesson for this trip was grace - grace demonstrated by the gifts we received but didn't deserve, by the grace given to us in our lack of cultural understanding, and by the grace we had to give our team members in the close living situation. The Japanese church taught me all about grace. They were very generous, giving me gifts that I didn't deserve, just as Jesus coming was undeserved by me.

Margo Dolas, Perimeter Church, Atlanta

Humorous Quotes

In communicating my profession to the family in my home stay, I said that I was a "denki hashi" (electrical chopstick) instead of a "denki gishi" (electrical engineer).

An older Japanese man who enjoyed practicing his English told me that I have "a strong nose."

Margo Dolas, Perimeter Church, Atlanta

From Japanese Church Evaluations

Even though this team had some difficulties in the Japanese language, they worked so hard for us. Especially Eleanor who at 84 years old, encouraged all the church members and seekers. We saw her wonderful attitude of wanting to serve God through her lifestyle even in her senior age. She was always the last person washing dishes or passing flyers. She regularly went jogging, she was well-disciplined and was enjoying her life. Many people saw the living God in her. Eleanor faithfully loves God and touch people's hearts so deeply.

Many people who had never come to church before, visited us for the first time because North Americans were there. The Summer Teams members gave a friendly smile to those living near the church. And it helped them to have a good impression of the church. When the Summer Teams members walked in the neighborhood, it was a good advertisement for the church, and more people visited us. Through their ministry, one seeker made decision to get baptised. Because all the team members passed out flyers for our events in front of a school, many students visited the church for the first time.

Through the Summer Teams ministry, more people visited the church for the first time, church members and "seekers" were encouraged, and their ministry was a good influence in our church's neighborhood.

Pastor of Kamui Christ Church (re: Team from 1st Pres. Church, Reading, PA)

The wonderful thing about Summer Teams is that God uses each member's gifts at various places. Even though each team member has his or her own unique personality, once they get together as a team, they do wonderful work. As a team, they can do greater work than if they work individually. Japanese people always watch how Summer Team members live their everyday lives, not just when they are at church. The best witness of Christianity is living a life in Christ's love, and it stays in people's hearts. The team members did that this summer.

Member of Mikasa Christ Church (re: Team from University Praise, Fullerton CA)
